We offer several ways that you or your church can volunteer to serve international students. Take a moment to read our Statement of Faith as you consider our various volunteer opportunities.
Friendship Partner®
Friendship Partner® are American families individuals who volunteer to befriend an international student. Friendship Partners can offer international students experiences of a lifetime, simply by including them in sports, the arts, religious and cultural events, as well as celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings.
Ministry Partners
Ministry Partners are churches or individuals who are either beginning international student ministry or want to be a part of a team of people who labor together to reach international students for Christ.
Ministry Representatives
Often referred to as ISI’s "expert volunteer," the Ministry Representative role is someone who may be both a volunteer and a Friendship Partner®. They work directly under the supervision of local staff, concentrating on direct ministry and evangelism. Ministry Representatives may be reimbursed for ministry expenses. These reimbursements come from funds donated by partners on their support team who contribute to their ministry. This is an ideal role for someone who would like to be more directly involved in ISI’s local ministry strategy, but cannot commit to the more formal role and responsibilities of our staff.
Prayer Intercessors
Our success is dependent on God’s blessing made possible by prevailing prayer! The ISI Prayer Intercessor agrees to faithfully participate in The ISI Prayer Network, by praying for the continuing and sometimes urgent needs of this ministry. The online Prayer Network is designed to mobilize prayer cover from individuals and church groups. Its purpose is to assist you in praying for our staff and volunteers in the U.S. and overseas.
